Seeing one of their comrades go down under Cinder's massive blade, the hobgoblin commander shakes off the cloud hazing his judgement and coordinates his team's efforts. In a tactically sound series of movements, the enemy focuses their fire on Gar, bringing him down in a series of arrows and setting him up for a simultaneous strike from both sides.

Taking advantage of the momentum, one of the bugbears lets the battlefury take over and leaps over the dragonborn's fallen body and slams his morningstar into Cinder, clipping him through the robes that he wears.

Even as he does this, Cinder notices an amulet that the creature seems to be wearing glows with an unnatural power, and a quick glance shows that almost all the enemy are wearing the same talisman.

Backed into a corner, the ranger nevertheless lifts his bow to finish his wounded opponent, earning him a solid hit in the side from the bugbear's morningstar. One spike penetrates through his armor to inflict a puncture wound, but the two arrows are already embedded in the bugbear's throat and it falls with a thump onto the wooden floor. Clutching the wound to minimize bleeding, Windspirit studies the movements and attack style of his next opponent, so that his arrows will be able to strike vulnerable regions on the target's body.

Shedding his beast form, Greifer drives his staff hard into the floorboard, chanting an incantation.

Gust of soil seeps out between the planks behind the hobgoblin commander, clustering to into a ball that eventually took the form of a great toad, skin coarse as rock. Without warning, the toad lashes its tongue at the hobgobin commander, only to deflected by a timely block of his spear.

Greifer then slide along the plank, behind the wall.

[ Cinder uses oath of enmity on enemy 1 and uses overhwhelming strike on him]

Rolling some dice:
1d20 +12: 16 (4)
1d20 +12: 19 (7)

[Turn Summary: Cinder attacks enemy 1 but misses. He does however place his oath of enmity on him]

Cinder turns his attention on the hobgoblin commander and attacks furiously with his full blade, however he was not prepared for the higher level of skill in this hobgoblin and did not succeed on any of his strikes. Furrowing his brow beneath his mask he centers his breathing and prepares to strike with more precision and determination at his next opportunity.
